Traditional Newks Lobster Boil
RECIPE
1. Build a large fire until there is a bed of coals for the pot to rest upon.
2. Add water, Old Bay, salt, and a bay leaf to the pot. Cover it.
3. Chop and quarter potatoes, onions, garlic, lemon wedges, and corn. Add them to the boiling water and cook for 3 minutes.
4. Drop the lobsters into the pot. Cover and cook: 10 minutes for a 1 lb lobster, adding 3 minutes for each additional pound.
5. Once lobsters are bright red, they are usually cooked all the way through. The meat should be white and not translucent.
6. Melt butter or ghee for dipping. Add Newks Hot Sauce for spicy butter. For this recipe, we used our Grillos Pickles Hot Sauce and created a hot dill butter.
7. Remove the pot from the fire, drain the water, and plate. Add additional salt and old bay as needed onto the vegetables.
8. Enjoy.
